It's been over two years since I last bothered with a journal update. Wow. Here goes nothing. *deeeeep breath* I've taken signed up for classes and completed classes, changed jobs, quit my job, and I'm currently in the process of enlisting in the US Navy. Economy being what it is (and my finances what they are) I've decided to give up on pursuing any art-related degree or employment, at least for the next 4-8 years. I don't think I have the right combination of talent, luck, drive, and connections to make it right now, and the idea of taking on major college loan debt if I'm gonna wind up right back in retail work isn't for me. So about a week ago I submitted a design to Threadless.com, which is a t-shirt company that is mostly based off of submissions from the general public. If yours is picked, you get a certificate for free shirts and some kind of monetary compensation. The selection process goes submission > acceptance by the panel of employees > votes by the rest of the internet. So far, based on comments from other members, I'm not doing so hot. Of course, you gotta take it with a grain of salt, since some of them probably have their own designs that they want chosen. Still, if you like me and you think the design is nifty, go drop a high vote my way :)

I don't have cancer. Yet. To go back to the beginning of things for people who've been spared my neurotic worrying about this whole business for the last three months: In March I had a standard physical/gynecological appointment, after a dentist's appointment (no cavities, yay!) and an inoculation. I wasn't too stressed about it, but it's something I was overdue for for a while. The results came back three weeks later as "squamous intraepthelial lesions" which is medical jargon for the lowest stage of pre-cancer.
